I sincerely hope that the 2012 Presidential elections will be the first American election to usher in a regular United States citizen uninfluneced by BOTH major parties. it will happen one day, it really has to. Corporate interest and lobbyist have ruined what was once a great political system. I don't ae all e answers, but i sure can hear plain talk and common sense when i hear it. There was a time in America when people went on family picnics, strolled through parks, said hi to strangers and didn't fear riding a bus or subway at night. Have we fallen so far so fast?
One reason for the fall is the corporate greed that puts unmounted pressure on common workers to produce, prodcue and produce more. Companies HAVE to beat next quarters earnings or their precious stock will tank. When their stock tanks so does their welth tied in with stock options and incentive bonus payouts. While i am a tru hearted free enterprise American, there has to be a balance somewhere. Common citizens can't enjoy time with their families as they are hampered working two and three jobs just trying to make ends meet. Is it a must that companies beat earnings every single quarter? Americans need real wages and real family time. while pounding away at the salt mine your children have grown, moved on to college and you have missed every special moment that could of been. All for what?
Recently there was an article about the Coverdell IRA being in jeopardy. Why would politicians even fathom of doing away with this? The Coverdell IRA is about the only way a common citizen can possibly put their children through private school or college.
America has got to quit spending spending, spending, enough is enough. let's hope a new candidate emrges in the coming year to wipe the slate clean of dirty corrupt politicians and is able to usher in a new America, an America that we used to know, An America we used to live in and enjoy
